The postprofessional Doctor of Science (DSc) degree program offers specialized study in the area of pediatrics and orthopedics.
The objectives of the DSc program are to prepare graduates who will:
- integrate professional and health literature in clinical practice and education;
- develop and evaluate programs that promote the integration of the physical and sociocultural aspects in health care and rehabilitation;
- effect systems change in practice through advocacy, knowledge translation, policy, and service delivery;
- develop and evaluate programs in existing and emerging practice settings that promote health and wellness and prevent disability;
- educate and mentor pre- and post-professional practitioners in the knowledge, skills, and values of rehabilitation science; contribute to scientific inquiry and advance an evidence-based practice perspective; and
- serve as rehabilitation consultants in such areas as business, industrial, judicial, legislative, health care, and community settings in health, policy, and rehabilitation.
