Rehabilitation science is the study of the enabling-disabling process and the relationships of the various influences that together contribute positively or negatively to the process. As described in Enabling America,[1] study in rehabilitation science involves the fundamental, basic, and applied aspects of the health sciences, social sciences, and engineering as they relate to restoring or improving the functional capacity of a person and the interaction of the person with the environment.
